Hi
I'd like to share two things with you. One is the Postcards from Seletar series of notebooks, the other is that the Seletar Chronicle is finally going online.
Postcards from Seletar is an initiative set up by a resident to raise as much awareness as possible about the future of this special part of Singapore. So far, it has certainly got people talking!
Volume 1 of the notebooks was launched in September. The original notebooks contain full colour prints of resident artist Isabelle Desjeux's paintings of flora and fauna from Seletar Camp, information on these, notes on the camp itself, and related details.
At the back are the prints again as detachable postcards. Note pages are lightly illustrated. All in all, a delightful personal notebook, or a great gift. You might even consider them as corporate gifts. Other volumes are planned and volume 2 is in progress. We will also have Seletar greetings cards (blank for you to write your personal greeting) and a poster of the camp.
If you would like to view the postcards volume 1 and order greetings cards, do drop by and see me. You can also view some pages on postcardsfromseletar.com/contact . Notebooks are $15 each. Do get yours while I still have stocks. No obligation to buy - just come and see. Call me on 91057778 if you'd like to come by.
The Seletar Chronicle, a newsletter set up by two residents, has been delivering news to residents since November 2003. In the past, it was a monthly, but by putting it online, we can now reflect daily news about the Camp. If you have urgent announcements such as a lost pet, this will be an excellent place to post a note. Adverts and messages can all be placed here free of charge. You will also be able to subscribe - once I've sorted out how to do that! Your contributions and comments are most, most welcome. The web address is seletarchronicles.wordpress.com
The last paper Chronicle goes out this week to let more residents know about the online version. Please forward this message to all your friends (in and outside camp) who would be interested.
One item in the Chronicle is Seletar Camp parties. Two are scheduled 8th December and 31st December. Come to what could be the Camp's last big new year bash! Bring all your friends and family for what should be a superb mix of people.
It'd be very good to catch up with you soon. There's always a comfy seat and drink waiting for you in Hyde Park Gate!
Warm wishes :-)
